Hi!

Some time ago (maybe on August or so) I wrote about server crashes
during indexing. I was told that the new engine will be much more
robust. Last week, I compiled the latest version of malete. However, the
problem is still present.

I start with an .iif file with about 70K records. I import it to malete
database.
Now I need to reindex it. I wrote small php script which loops through
records with

$db->read
$idx->set
...
$idx->set
$db->index

commands. This script chrashes the server after some amount of indexed
records (6000 or so).
I do
malete qdump db >db.mqt && malete qload db <db.mqt,
restart server and try to continue, but the server crashes again after
about 1000 recs etc.

The thing I noticed is that after the crash .mqx is 8192, but after
qload it is 4096 bytes long every time.

After 10 or so iterations, I passed this 4096 bytes limit successfully,
and the rest was done smoothly, getting working database and index.

Another issue I noticed is that after

malete qdump db >db.mqt
malete qload db <db.mqt
malete qdump db >db.mqt

the first line from db.mqt disappeared. Doing qload/qdump again, I miss
one more line etc.

Hope that this can be fixed once upon a time.

Regards,
vo

thanks for your patience and sorry for the inconvenience.
will try to find out.

any details you could provide (OS?) would be helpful,
especially if I could get the files for download somewhere.
(or mail me a tar.gz or zip, but please not to the list).

cheers
Klaus
