hello everybody

I just discover this page:
http://blog.codigophp.com/pyisis/

I am looking forward to find if it use any "clasic"
backend like isis.dll or wwwisis.

but it could be just plain python, but, that made me
think that python could be a good choice fo a desktop
openisis app

what do you think?

Took a look. It is pure Python. icon_wink.gif

I like very much Python, I wanted to do something like the PHP extension
in Python (Python has a C API).

Python uses Tkinter which is an interface to Tcl/Tk. It has also Tix
which is an extension widgets for Tk. Actually Tcl/Tk is everywhere... I
think that tells for itself how good it is.

I still would like to use C++ and Qt. I also would like to see a Selene
library. Waiting and having patience is not that bad.

The Klaus's idea of using Flash is actually very good. The only caveat
would be the threat to accessibility (not so easy to achieve on flash:
http://www.nngroup.com/reports/flash/) because people could just put the
application on the web.

Well that's for my contribution today.

Hasta pronto,

B.

well, not to bother anybody,
I mean it's perfectly ok if you guys like python,
and I am not going to start my big lecture on why python sux
here and now, just to say python incorporates features
and even dead bodies until it explodes

probably Tk still is the best designed GUI lib
- and a good example of a classical use of OO principles
without any need for an "OO language".

Unfortunately most programming systems become worse every year.
This is not because the underlying principles are no longer valid
- quite to the opposite, the older the language, the more truth
it is bearing. But some "community" is always underways to bury
these principles with features and more features, making the
system fat and ugly and, well, old.

err ... yes.
And I've been told the "*SIS world summit" did not
turn the situation for the better.
so lez just relax

OTOH there are features which may help to improve
accessibility like builtin scaling of everything
and good sound integration.

I'll keep you informed on the latest developments icon_smile.gif
